It was in 2009, when Mohd. Sayeed, a businessman based in Hyderabad, carved out a minar (tower) out of thermocol, realised his dexterity with the medium and started his journey as a thermocol artist. Using high-density polystyrene discarded by factories and hospitals, Mohd. Sayeed has created over a hundred pieces since then. His handiwork includes miniature replicas of the Mecca Masjid, Charminar, Eiffel Tower, a Rolls Royce car, hot boilers, a microscope, windmills and many more. These objects fashioned out of scrap material are on display at the Sayeed Thermocol Arts Museum, which is located at his residence in Toli Chowki, Hyderabad. [1]
