Locally known as the Buddhist Theme Park, the Buddhist Heritage Museum, Buddavanam was inaugurated on 14 May 2014. Located near the Nagarjuna Sagar dam in the Nalgonda district, the museum hosts a number of coins and artefacts that were unearthed during the construction of the dam. With the help of The Department of Heritage, Telangana - Nalgonda district has developed to house this district museum where Buddhist sculptures, Pala and Gandhara sculptures, bronze artefacts, and Ajanta paintings have been preserved. With the agenda of showcasing more of the cultural heritage of the region, the museum has plans for expanding their galleries.
